Who we are?

We are female owned. We are dreamers. We are makers. We are yarn fanatics. We are Sun Yarn Studio.

Sun Yarn Studio was founded in August of 2017 by the avid knitter and yarn fanatic Erika who was frustrated by finding particular shades of yarn for her small knitting business when she was on maternity leave. It was difficult to buy some yarn due to limited stock of high quality yarn in Lithuania. So, one day she asked her husband: “What if I quitted my bank job and opened a yarn store?”. He supported her idea, but she was in doubt: “What if nobody buys the yarn?”. His answer “Knit them all” gave a start to follow her dream. She decided to open Sun Yarn Studio, a small independent yarn shop in Vilnius, Lithuania.

This shop has grown beyond her wildest expectations. Starting 2017 Sun Yarn Studio served over 100 000 customers worldwide who love the best quality yarns, fast shipping and great customer service.

Every item we stock has been chosen with care – every yarn and tool is worked with before we bring it in to make sure it lives up to our standards of quality.

Why Sun Yarn Studio?

The meaning of the Sun symbol.

The Sun is a solar goddess, the common Baltic solar deity in the Lithuanian mythology. There is a very strong feminine aspect within Baltic mythology. The Sun is one of the most powerful deities, the goddess of life and fertility, warmth and health. As a mother and a businesswoman I have chosen the Sun symbol for my business.
